Columbia Pictures has released new stills from the upcoming Spider-Man movie. We get another very nice look at the webslinger. I admit, I still can’t get over his textured suit, it reminds me too much of a basketball.
We also get a nice closeup of his wrist gadgets that shoot silky spiderwebs. Very interesting!

Here’s an interesting look at a makeup test for the Green Goblin, from Sam Raimi’s original 2002 Spider-Man movie.
This archived footage was recently released by effects company Amalgamated Dynamics. As you can see below, the final version ended up looking very different. Personally, I kind of like this unused version. Interesting stuff!
I’m pleased to post the latest costume by Courtney Coombs — a gorgeous Venom costume!
Courtney’s been a long time commenter here at MyDisguises, and I’ve posted her costumes many times in the past. It’s always a pleasure, she does excellent work!
Her Venom costume has been a work in progress for some time now, and she wore it for Halloween this year. She has a very cool venom mask, as well, but for this party she opted for Venom makeup. She looks so awesome!

Todd Kent of Todd Kent of ComicBookLiteracy wanted a Green Lantern theme for his baby daughter’s Halloween costume. But he didn’t just make a Green Lantern costume — he made 9 costumes, one for each of the Lantern Corps colors! This is the cutest thing ever. Looks like so much work was involved. Well done, Sir!
So the original plan was for my 3 month old daughter to go as Green Lantern for Halloween but she insisted on being every single color of Lantern possible. She also insisted that every costume incorporate a tutu. So, for your viewing pleasure, here are all nine of my daughter’s Halloween costumes (and a reference pic for each corresponding colored Lantern Corp).
Here’s another Batgirl costume. Wow, so nice. This is cosplay model AiTenshiMisha, doing a Stephanie Brown version of Batgirl. Awesome!
Over the years there have been quite a few girls donning the mantle of Batgirl, a worth ally and sidekick for Batman in his fight against Gotham’s never ending crime. Stephanie Brown is the latest incarnation of Batgirl, having shed her old Spoiler persona and now taken up the symbol of bat, and collapsible bo staff, on a more permanent basis!
It looks like Captain America will be the new mayor of Los Molinos, California. Heh, true story, sort of…
The unincorporated town doesn’t have a real mayor, and the title is only honorary. Intead of being elected, the mayor title goes to whoever can raise the most money for their 4th of July fireworks show.
Funny idea! It gets funnier considering the leading contender is Kevin Benson Sr., who’s raising money dressed as Captain America! Congratulations, sir.
Benson says “I instruct school kids on the value of veterans… One year, a teacher said I was so patriotic I was like Captain America.” He’s raising money with softball and horseshoe tournaments and a barbecue.
