HypeBeast has a preview of the new line of Star Wars sneakers from adidas. I actually like the looks of the stormtrooper and Darth Vader sneakers – not so sure about the rainbow silver ones with photos from the orginal Star Wars though.
These shoes will hit retail stores next January. No word yet on the price, but you might have to sell your landspeeder to be able to afford them.
For its Spring/Summer season adidas Originals teamed up with Star Wars for a memorable collection of footwear and apparel. Although the theme has been used in the world of fashion already, this new collection seamlessly fuses inspiration from legendary Star Wars characters and scenes with iconic adidas Originals silhouettes.
The pieces begin to hit all adidas Originals stores and other select retailers in January 2010 while a closer look into the lineup will soon be made available.
Tim Burton is about to be honored by New York’s Museum of Art, as they celebrate his “career as a director, producer, writer, and concept artist for live-action and animated films, along with his work as a fiction writer, photographer and illustrator.”
In anticipation of this 5-month event, Harper’s Bazaar asked Tim Burton to direct a fashion photo shoot! Wow, he certainly has a knack for balancing creepy darkness with bright colors. And that giant skeleton is very cool.
Dragon*Con is only a week away! Check out this cool TV commerical, does it make you drool with costume desire?
Dragon*Con is the largest multi-media, popular culture convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film in the US. Dragon*Con 2009 will be held Labor Day weekend (September 4 – September 7, 2009) in Atlanta, GA.
Earlier this year, an historic yet troubled Minneapolis bar named Stand Up Frank’s closed down, only to be reopened as an awesome zombie-themed bar called the “Zombie Den.” As you can see in the photo above, Frank isn’t dead – The undead Frank still lives!
The stunning new interior comes straight out of a 1950s Las Vegas lounge (the classic part). The zombie stuff (i.e. the kitsch) is hilarious, and more nuanced than you’d expect from a bar named Donny Dirk’s Zombie Den. In the corner, a small chainsaw sits inside a glass case that reads “In case of zombie attack, break glass.” The bartenders all dress like Simon Pegg in “Shaun of the Dead” — white button-up, red tie and blood stains. The friendly female servers wear long black gowns.
That is so cool. And I LOVE how the bartenders all wear Shaun of the Dead costumes.
Here’s the trailer for Shaun of the Dead – the best zombie movie EVER!
