Mardi Gras Food Costumes

Photographer Judy Walker published a short, but sweet, gallery of food costumes from Mardi Gras 2013 in New Orleans. Shown above is a clever couple wearing Seafood costumes. She’s quite the catch! How romantic.

Below we have a “Tobasco Guy” costume, as well as a “King cake baby and baker.” Clever! It’s a Mardi Gras tradition to hide a small figurine (usually a baby), or trinket, inside the king cake. Whoever gets the slice of cake with the baby inside is the winner of various privileges and obligations. Hmm, sounds mysterious!
