How adorable is this Cinderella costume? She’s off to the ball, in her very fancy coach complete with fairy tale lights. What a fantastic way to incorporate a wheelchair into the costume. So creative, and way too cute.
I’ve really been enjoying Jus Cos, the cosplay show on The Nerdist’s channel. I’ve posted a few episodes here in the past. They spend a lot of time visiting conventions, showing lots of amazing costumes, and interviewing the cosplayers.
I found this episode particularly interesting, because instead of focusing on the most amazing costumes, they focus on the cheap costumes. We get a look at some of the creative ways people made costumes for little or no money. That’s not an easy thing to do, and many of these costumes look pretty good. I’m impressed!
Nice guy Chett DeLong definitely wins Valentine’s Day this year. He put on a funny costume, then skated around his college campus and handed out roses. Wow, what a way to brighten someone’s day. You are an inspiration to us all, good Sir.
This Harlem Shake video is not what you think! Apparently the folks at The Multiverse are a bit tired of the latest Internet memes. It’s all in good fun, and features good costumes, too… even if they all look ridiculous. 🙂
There’s a strange photography exhibit in Austria, which consists entirely of an anonymous person wearing a lamp shade in various locations. The exhibit is titled “Die Lampe,” or “The Lamp,” and is apparently growing quite a following a fans.
The gallery has its own Facebook page where you can see many of the Lamp Shade photos. I ran the About blurb through Google translate and got:
“Stage fright refers to the tension, the tension and the stress of a lamp.”
So I guess that means… lamps stand out in the darkness. If you were a lamp– there’s nowhere to hide, everyone can see you. People depend on you, and expect you to perform at the flip of a switch. Just like being on stage? Very interesting.
