Here’s a fun little trick to make a wearable wristwatch out of a mandarin orange. Because the best kind of costume accessories are the kind you can eat! Looks simple enough, and definitely a fun way to keep the kids entertained and eating healthy. Very cool!
This gentleman makes good use of his Segway scooter to complete his homemade robot costume. Heh, pretty cool, actually. Just wrap some cardboard boxes in foil, and you’ve got yourself a speedy little costume.
Have you heard of the movie Knights of Badassdom? Trailer #1 was recently released, and boy does this look like a silly costume adventure. A group of LARPers accidentally unleash an evil succubus, and their fantasy game becomes real.
This movie was filmed nearly three years ago, and it’s taken a terribly long time to get released. This might be one of those movies that is so bad, it’s good. And I can see how it might not appeal to everybody, but I for one am quite excited to see this movie. Hopefully we’ll get the opportunity some time in 2013.
Have you ever gone to a costume party, but misunderstood the theme? I stumbled onto this comedy short by @KatiaKvinge, about a girl who just can’t seem to do costumes. Pretty silly, but it gave me a chuckle. This is her submission to the Dave’s Comedy Festival video competition. Good luck! Hope you win.
Aww, look at these adorable Shetland ponies. Watch them get dressed in their fine cardigan sweaters. Way too cute.
These ponies are official ambassadors for Scotland, in a new tourist campaign by VisitScotland. Very clever marketing! I have half a mind to drop everything and buy a plane ticket. 🙂
The Shetland Pony ambassadors from our photos come courtesy of Thordale Shetland Stud Centre, and are wearing jumpers made of Shetland wool created by local Shetland knitter Doreen Brown, of Shetland Collection. Photography by Rob McDougall.
Travel over to VisitScotland for more photos of Fivla and Vitamin.
These costumes seem appropriate today… Star Trek Jedi costumes! This photo was taken by foodbyfax at Dragon*Con 2012.
As you probably heard by now, Star Trek’s J.J. Abrams has been announced to direct the upcoming Star Wars movie. Talk about two worlds colliding!
Personally, I’m still processing this news. I like J.J. Abrams quite a bit, but man, it feels wrong to have the same person make both Star Trek and Star Wars. Oh, I’m sure it will turn out fine. But really, there was no one else, Disney? Well, I guess it is what it is. Best of luck to you, Mr. Abrams.
