Here’s a spirited news report from New Zealand. A small Auckland costume shop is facing legal trouble for renting out statues of the Oscar as costume props for parties.
I’m a bit surprised at how funny they make this story, showing clips of Oscar winners sobbing and accusing the Academy of being uptight bullies. And for some reason, the reporter makes a point of saying Jennifer Aniston can’t act.
You’d think they’d have more important things to worry about. Like the fact Jennifer Aniston really can’t act. Or the fact that so many of their blockbusters feel lame, tired and predictable. But no, the academy is seriously worried about eight statues of Oscar, on the other side of the world.
