Giddy up in costumes! Take a look at the Giddy Up Gals, the equestrian team from San Jose State University. They’ll be donning costumes and performing in the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day.
They will all be wearing fairy costumes, a theme based on “a story about a lonesome fairy who gains wings and new friends.”
Also worth noting is that the “rump of every horse will be painted with bright red roses,” which I’m sure will make it easier for these guys:
But the highlight of the show will trail the horses: the “pooper scoopers,” a pair of fathers — one skinny, one stout — dressed as bumblebees in yellow tights. They’ll pull a wheelbarrow decorated like a bee hive.
“Our dads are the real comedy act, dancing around with their shovels,” Hinson said. “People wave at us, but they’re the big audience hit.”
Heh, well if your job is to pick up horse poop, you might as well do it in costume.
Sounds like a fun parade and a great way to kick off the new year!
I thought it would be appropriate to show the pink bunny costume from the hilarious classic, Christmas Story. Remember Ralphie’s horror when he had to put it on? LOL, here’s the clip from the movie.
Heh, that poor kid. Ralphie doesn’t realize that it’s actually a cool costume! You can visit Instructables for a wonderful tutorial on how to make this bunny suit. Though it’s probably not a good idea to force someone to wear it, lol.
