Chastity bras? Not cool!

I found this bizarre article on Trendhunter.com. This bra is made for engaged Japanese women. The bra comes with a lock and a timer that counts down to the wedding day. And the engagement ring serves as the key that unlocks it. WTF!

From the description:

If an engagement ring is inserted into the special slot, the countdown stops and The Wedding March is played. The bra also has holders for the marriage contract seal and a pen for pre-nups.

LOL – A pen for pre-nups? And it looks like it also comes with a pair of oven mitts for working in the kitchen. How…offensive.

Wow. Is this a joke? Who would really wear this?

    Um… it’s not a chastity bra. It’s a “konkatsu” bra, “konkatsu” meaning marriage hunt. The word is a pun of sorts on the Japanese word for job hunting, and “konkatsu” is currently a big fad here in Japan, where people go on multiple arranged dates trying to find a husband or wife. I saw this on the news (I currently live in Japan) and it’s just a joke; it will not be mass produced or sold.
