Japanese Anime Robots Put Supermodels Out of Work

by manny

Japanese robots will soon be strutting down the catwalk at fashion shows, according to this video report from Routers.

Yes, this robot walks like a supermodel. It’s pretty incredible, but I must say Summer Glau still does it better.

I like this part, 40 seconds into the video:

“Her eyes, face and hair came from anime comic characters…”

I wonder who they copied? I’m also a little intrigued about how she’s “geared to entertain, not home help,” and “already sporting an attitude.”

What does that even mean, exactly? Maybe I shouldn’t ask.

“Anime comic”? Come on Routers. The term is manga. Sheesh.

I actually really like the idea of using robots instead of models. Helps the focus be more on the clothes where the focus should be.
