How Does One Cosplay Like Jenni Källberg?
by collin
I emailed Jenni from Pixelninja.se earlier about her cosplay that suddenly got plastered across the Internet. She did an amazing version of Samus Aran from the Metroid series of games. While writing her, I started to ask myself what I could possibly ask her. I wanted an interview. I wanted to know what she did to make it so authentic. I have yet to hear back, as I’m sure she’s busy and dealing with the rain of emails she’s likely getting.
Jenni’s cosplay is a great insight into what it’s all about. After reviewing costumes daily, I tend believe that some cosplayers have talent that is more than average. With personal budgets, they put together film quality costumes. Most of these costumes are iconic to so many people. Authenticity is not an option. Every single aspect of the costume is scrutinized and broken apart to see just how well it holds up against the original.
Jenni Källberg has done some phenominal work. You’ll have to jump over to her website and look at her galleries. She exemplifies excellence in costuming. There’s surely a lot that any DIY costumer can learn from her. We hope to get an interview soon. In the end, it’s her expertise that makes her work worthy of repeat visits. Ride the link over to her site and let us know what you have to say about her cosplay.
Oh, and Jenni, do us a favor and take your work to the World Cosplay Summit!
