The Ultimate Fan – Real Spartan Armor from Halo 3
by collinAs the digital phenomenon, Halo, took flight this past week by smashing record sales all over the place ($170m on its first day, via InformationWeek), fandom recieved a new name. It’s no surprise, as Halo has been more than a following ever since the first in Microsoft’s killer franchise in the earlier part of the decade. Despite the expected wave of obsession, crazy obsessed die-hards have made their mark in entertainment history with even more clever ways to celebrate the game’s release.
In the following video excerpt from a G4TV launch party, we get a look at some real life Spartan armor suits made by Nightmare Armor Studios. According to Sid Garrand, the Master Chief suit is battle tested and about as authentic as you can get, for fictional space armor that is. The suit weights about 45 lbs. and is likely an event just strapping it on. But it could be worth it just to be the Chief for a little while. This is, hands down, the best of the best we’ve ever seen.
We’ll try to get in contact with the guys at Nightmare Armor Studios to find out more about their projects. In the meantime stay tuned for whatever else we can find.
